The second session of Sunday night coed at Akron Indoor Soccer kicked off with some exciting and high-scoring games. Here are the highlights from week one:
- Serb Patrol started their campaign with a convincing 9-3 win over A Really Bad Team, who lived up to their name. Serb Patrol dominated the game with their speed, skill, and teamwork, scoring five goals in the first half and four in the second. A Really Bad Team managed to score three consolation goals, but never looked like threatening Serb Patrol‘s lead.
- The game of the week was a thrilling clash between Zubris and Jaguars, which ended in a narrow 9-8 victory for the latter. Zubris took an early lead with two goals in the first five minutes, but Jaguars fought back with four goals of their own to make it 4-2 at halftime. The second half was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams scoring five goals each. Jaguars scored the decisive goal in the final minute, securing their first win of the session.
- Nameless edged out Team Dauberman by 8-6 in a close and competitive game. Nameless had a slight advantage in the first half, leading 4-3 at the break. Team Dauberman equalized early in the second half, but Nameless regained their lead with two quick goals. Team Dauberman pulled one back, but Nameless scored again to make it 8-5. Team Dauberman scored a late goal, but it was not enough to prevent Nameless from taking the three points.
- Chill FC came from behind to beat Merica by 12-9 in a high-scoring and entertaining game. Merica started strongly, scoring four goals in the first 10 minutes. Chill FC responded with three goals of their own, making it 4-3 at halftime. The second half was a goal-fest, with both teams scoring nine goals each. Chill FC showed more composure and accuracy in front of the goal, scoring six goals in the last 10 minutes to seal their win.
- Un-Zippers spoiled Stu’s Roos debut at Akron Indoor Soccer, beating them by 9-6. Un-Zippers took control of the game from the start, scoring four goals in the first half and five in the second. Stu’s Roos showed some fight, scoring three goals in each half, but could not match Un-Zippers’ pace and power. Un-Zippers celebrated their win with a loud zipper sound, while Stu’s Roos vowed to bounce back in the next game.
