Monday Night Women’s League: Week 10 Recap

With one week left of the first session for the Monday Night Women’s League at Akron Indoor Soccer saw some high-scoring games and dramatic finishes. Here is a summary of the action from Week 10:

Y-Town 45 routs Hot Feet, ends season on a high note

Y-Town 45 (3-7) ended their season with a bang, scoring nine goals against Hot Feet (4-3-1) and earning their third win of the season. Y-Town 45 dominated the game from start to finish, showing no mercy to their opponents. They scored four goals in the first half and five more in the second half, while conceding only one goal to Hot Feet. Y-Town 45 finished the season with nine points, in fifth place out of six teams.

Hot Feet, on the other hand, had a disappointing performance in their penultimate game of the season. They failed to keep up with the pace and intensity of Y-Town 45, and could not find their rhythm on offense. They scored their only goal in the second half, but it was too little, too late. Hot Feet is currently tied for second place with 13 points, but they have one more game to play next week against Scrubs, the league leaders.

Scrubs clinches first place, defeats Rusty Shots

Scrubs (7-1-1) secured the top spot in the league standings, after beating Rusty Shots (2-5-1) by a score of 9-3. Scrubs showed why they are the best team in the league, scoring five goals in the first half and four more in the second half, while allowing only three goals to Rusty Shots. Scrubs have 22 points, and a +30 goal difference, the highest in the league. They have one more game to play next week against Hot Feet, but they have already clinched the first place and the bragging rights.

Rusty Shots, meanwhile, had a tough night against the formidable Scrubs. They tried to put up a fight, but they were outmatched and outplayed by their opponents. They scored two goals in the first half and one more in the second half, but they could not stop the onslaught of Scrubs. Rusty Shots are in fourth place with seven points, two points behind third place. They have one more game to play next week against Y-Town 45, and they need to win to have a chance of finishing in the top three.
