The Monday Night Women’s League at Akron Indoor Soccer wrapped up its first session of the year with two thrilling matches that decided the final standings. The league, which features five teams, has been running for twenty years and attracts many fans and supporters.
Rusty Shots vs Fabulous Fireballs
The first match of the night was between Rusty Shots and Fabulous Fireballs, who were both looking to end the session on a high note. The Fireballs, who had won their previous three games, came out firing and scored three goals in the first half. The Rusty Shots, who had lost their last four games, tried to keep up but could only score one goal in the first half. The Fireballs continued to dominate the game in the second half with their fast and skillful play, scoring six more goals. The Rusty Shots scored two more goals in the second half, but it was not enough. The Fireballs won the game by a convincing score of 9-3 and finished the session in second place.
Hot Feet vs Scrubs
The second match of the night was the title decider between Hot Feet and Scrubs, who were both undefeated in the session. The Scrubs, who had won all their games by a large margin, were the favorites to win the session. The Hot Feet, who had also won all their games but by a smaller margin, were the underdogs who hoped to pull off an upset. The game started off with a bang, as both teams scored two goals in the first half. The Scrubs then took the lead in the second half with three more goals, while the Hot Feet could not score. The Scrubs extended their lead in the second half with eight more goals, while the Hot Feet scored two goals. The game ended with the Scrubs winning by a landslide of 13-4 and becoming the session one champions.
