The fifth week of the Men's Tuesday Night League at Akron Indoor Soccer saw some exciting action and drama, as teams battled for points and positions in the standings. Here are the highlights of the four matches played on February 13, 2024.
Fireballs – GFS 6, My Adidas - Team in Black 4
In the first match of the night, Fireballs – GFS continued their unbeaten run with a 6-4 victory over My Adidas - Team in Black. The Fireballs scored three goals in each half, while the Team in Black tried to keep up with two goals in each half. The Fireballs showed their firepower and efficiency, as they converted six of their eight shots on target. The Team in Black had more possession and shots, but could not find the net as often. With this win, the Fireballs moved to the third spot in the table with nine points, while the Team in Black remained in the fifth spot with six points.
SELHUBM 10, Kitec Red 10
The second match of the night was a high-scoring thriller, as SELHUBM and Kitec Red played out a 10-10 draw. The match was a roller-coaster ride, as both teams exchanged leads and goals throughout the 60 minutes. SELHUBM started strong, scoring four goals in the first 15 minutes, but Kitec Red fought back with five goals in the next 15 minutes to take a 5-4 lead at halftime. The second half was even more dramatic, as SELHUBM scored six goals and Kitec Red scored five goals, with the final goal coming in the last minute to level the score. Both teams showed their attacking prowess, as they combined for 20 goals from 32 shots on target. SELHUBM stayed in the second place with 10 points, while Kitec Red moved to the sixth place with four points.
Summit FC 6, Yellow 4
The third match of the night saw Summit FC extend their lead at the top of the table with a 6-4 win over Yellow. Summit FC scored four goals in the first half and two goals in the second half, while Yellow scored two goals in each half. Summit FC dominated the match, as they had more possession, shots, and shots on target. Yellow tried to make a comeback in the second half, but Summit FC held on to their lead and secured the three points. Summit FC now have 12 points from four wins and one loss, while Yellow are in the seventh place with three points.
Black or White 5, Bourbon Bandits 15
The last match of the night was a one-sided affair, as Bourbon Bandits thrashed Black or White 15-5. Bourbon Bandits scored eight goals in the first half and seven goals in the second half, while Black or White scored three goals in the first half and two goals in the second half. Bourbon Bandits were ruthless, as they scored 15 goals from 18 shots on target. Black or White had no answer to the onslaught, as they conceded 15 goals from 21 shots on target. Bourbon Bandits climbed to the fourth place with six points, while Black or White remained at the bottom of the table with three points.
