Wednesday Night Women’s League Kicks Off Second Session

The Wednesday Night Women’s League at Akron Indoor Soccer is back for another exciting session of soccer action. Nine teams will compete for the coveted trophy and bragging rights in the 11-week season that starts on January 31, 2024.

Among the nine teams, one is new to the league: Mom’s Night Out, a group of mothers who decided to form a team for fun and fitness. They will face a tough challenge in their debut match against Goals Gone Wild, a veteran team that is looking to improve from the previous session.

The other teams are familiar faces in the league, with some rivalries and history between them. The defending champions, FFC, will look to continue their dominance and defend their title. They have a strong roster of players who have been playing together for a long time. Their first opponent is You Can’t Sit With Us, a team that has a mix of skill and sass.

AKC Eggplants, will try to bounce back from their loss in the final and claim the trophy this time. They have a balanced team of attackers and defenders who can score and stop goals. They will face Sharp Shooters, a team that has a reputation for scoring long-range goals.

The last match of the first week will feature Buckeye Bullets and Y-Town, Both teams have improved their rosters and tactics and hope to climb up the standings this time. They have a friendly rivalry and respect for each other, but they will not hold back on the field.

The Wednesday Night Women’s League promises to be a thrilling and competitive session of soccer, with eight teams vying for glory and fun. The Wednesday Women’s League at Akron Indoor Soccer concluded its 10th week of action with some thrilling games and decisive results. Here is a recap of the matches that took place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

FFC 2 clinches top spot with a win over WHJ
FFC 2 secured the first place in the group with a convincing 9-3 victory over WHJ. FFC 2 dominated the game from start to finish, scoring four goals in the first half and five in the second. WHJ tried to put up some resistance, but could not match the pace and skill of FFC 2. FFC 2 finished the session with an impressive record of 9 wins and 1 tie, accumulating 28 points. WHJ, on the other hand, ended up in the 9th position with 7 points.

Y-Town thrashes Goals Gone Wild
Y-Town delivered a stellar performance to beat Goals Gone Wild 10-4. Y-Town was in control of the game throughout, scoring five goals in each half and displaying some excellent teamwork and passing. Goals Gone Wild managed to score four goals, but could not stop the onslaught of Y-Town. Y-Town has one game left in the session and is currently in the 5th place with 15 points. Goals Gone Wild has finished the session in the 12th place with 4 points.

Buckeye Bullets shoot down Y-Town 2.0 to secure fourth place
Buckeye Bullets showed their firepower to defeat Y-Town 2.0 8-4 and secure the fourth place in the group. Buckeye Bullets scored four goals in each half, with some spectacular shots and moves. Y-Town 2.0 tried to keep up with the pace, but could not overcome the deficit. Buckeye Bullets finished the session with 16 points, while Y-Town 2.0 finished the session in the 10th place with 5 points.

FFC edges out Sharp Shooters in a high-scoring affair

Goal Diggers could not cope with the pressure, and only managed to score six goals in the game.

You Can’t Sit With Us took the lead in the first half, scoring five goals and conceding two. Y-Town tried to mount a comeback in the second half, scoring two more goals, but You Can’t Sit With Us scored three more goals to seal the win.
